Nuuksio is a very small national park situated only 35 km from Helsinki. It is a unique place of wild and protected area located close to the major city of the European country. It was established in 1994 and covers the area of 53 km2. Its breathtaking landscape is dominated by valleys, gorges and rocky hills. This rocky and wet terrain is covered mainly by spruce and pine forest and filled with over 80 beautiful lakes and ponds creating very typically Finnish landscape. Park became a very popular place for fishing, skiing, climbing, birdwatching, picking berries and mushrooms, canoeing, hiking, and other activities for inhabitants of nearby cities of Helsinki and Espoo.
We can offer you many different itineraries for this tour depending on your expectations and interest in certain activities. It also depends on the time of the year you wish to visit the park. The most popular version of the tour that we want to recommend you is a standard half day trip from Helsinki which includes some hiking through the Nuuksio Park and also guided visit to a Reindeer Park in Nuuksio. Additional attraction would be a campfire with coffee or tea, self grilled sausage or a Carelian Pie, a Finnish cinnamon roll.
